Cheating report surfaces in Pennsylvania — Joanne Jacobs
Yet another cheating scandal. Unlike some comments I will not blame NCLB. However, as the pressure for high marks on state testing rises so does the pressure to perform well...as any cost....even cheating. As states begin to legislate teacher evaluation based on test results on these same measures the cheating will only increase. It is not that teachers are bad....rather they are doing what they (unfortunately) need to do in order to keep their jobs. Sadly....those who suffer are the students.
