More on PD

It is our responsibility to engage in ongoing, purposeful professional development.  It is a shared responsibility between the educator and the school district.  However, I would argue that in the limited time that our school gives they cannot meet the needs of all of us.  District provided PD is limited in time and the scope is limited to current building and district improvement plans.  While these plans are very important, they don't ensure your growth as a professional.  They are more universal in nature and geared towards test scores.  This is neither good or bad....just the way districts are required to operate to reach success as measured by the state.
